One Wild Day

This is an interesting picture.  It is of course a stop sign, but it has a different way of saying it.  I really like this stop sign because it is different.  The day this picture was taken has an interesting story behind it.  As you can see looking at me, my tie is tucked away inside my suit pocket; this is because of the events that happened before this photo was taken.
Elder Thomas and I were teamed up doing missionary work this day.  We were on the way to some people we wanted to try.  Earlier this week, as you can see, it snowed.  It snowed quite a bit but that wasn't the worst part.  The wind here in Billings can get blowing good, so one thing we have to watch out for is drifts of snow that appear in the road, especially back roads.  Well, as we were headed to try some people we hit one of these drifts going pretty fast.   We hoped we would brake through it, but to our great disappointment, it was a very big drift and we got stuck.  Because of our momentum, we made it far into the drift and we were high centered and stuck.
We tried to dig and push our way out, but we weren't going anywhere.

Lucky for us some nice men drove by in a big 4 wheel drive pickup.  We eventually got out, but even with all of this help it took quite a while and was a hard process.
What I learned from this experience is that we need to slow down in life.  Especially when conditions around us aren't the best, we need to take things slower and make sure our actions are safe.  This can apply to driving and things, but also decisions.  When we are struggling and Satan is throwing a lot of challenges our way we need to slow down and get back to the basics.  Also what I learned is that when we do make mistakes and get ourselves stuck, even majorly stuck.  God sends us a way to get unstuck.  The help God has sent us is our Savior.  It may be hard and a long struggle changing and getting out, but I know that with the help of our Savior we can change and get out of even very large problems.
